About the Account Hierarchy Policy
Enabling the Account Hierarchy Policy automates the maintenance of corporate families within Salesforce. As accounts are created and updated by a 3rd party data provider like D&B or ZoomInfo, Fullcast's Account Hierarchy Policy will update the corporate family accordingly.
Below are requirements for enabling the Account Hierarchy Policy:
- Fullcast Managed Package is Installed
- Connected App is configured and authenticated in the motion settings
- A 3rd party data provider that enriches accounts in Salesforce and has corporate family context

Account Hierarchy Policy Options
Keys
The main section of the Account Hierarchy Policy allows the user to define the data used to match parent and child. This is done in a prioritized manner. First look for a match between the first option, if no match is found, try the second selection, and if no match found, try the 3rd option.
Simulation
Enabling this setting will cause the policy to update the parent and ultimate parent into fields other than the standard Parent field. This is helpful when we want to see the impact of enabling the Account Hierarchy Policy.
Where is data updated in Salesforce
If simulation is turned off, the default fields will be populated with the information in the below table.
Field | API Name | Data |
---|---|---|
Parent | ParentId | Lookup to the immediate parent |
UltimateParent | fcio1_UltimateParent__c | Lookup to the top most parent in the corporate family |
Note: If simulation is turned on, then the Parent and UltimateParent field will not be populated.
