Upgrade Notes

The September release focuses on features to enhance self-service capability and for an improved user experience. New Features & Enhancements

Enhancements to SmartPlans

Three new SmartPlan criteria:

  • Balance by metrics - Apart from balancing the territory by a particular field, we have added the option of balancing with metrics. You can now use any of the configured metrics in the system to balance territories.
  • Balance by number of accounts - When the number of accounts is huge, balancing the territories with an equal share of accounts would help in proper planning of sales.
  • Disruption Minimization - With the Disruption minimization rule, you can now quickly minimize the disruption. If you add this rule as the #1 priority, the system will ensure that no account relationships are disrupted during the creation of the territories and during runtime with automated re-run rules during import. This is one of our most requested features for SmartPlans.

Criteria Filters - You can now limit the records which are considered in the various SmartPlan criteria using a new filtering capability.

How to calculate the targets:

  • When we split the targets after moving the target from one to another node. The impact will depend on the effective changes that are applied.
  • Example:

Assume, that we want the changes to be effective from June, then data from Jan to May will be in the old node, and Jun to Dec data will be in the new node.

Tribute targets automatically

The automatic distribution of targets will now automatically add targets to newly created territories if you enable this option in the Target configuration. This eliminates the extra manual step today and makes the entire process more efficient for the planner.

Flexible Target Timeframes

In addition, now targets can have a flexible time period. Prior to this feature, the only supported time period was a fiscal year or 12 months. Now you can create targets for less than 12 months.

Effective date your target moves

We have enhanced the "move people" workflow to now provide the ability to effectively date a target move. If you are moving people from one manager or one team in the middle of the year - you can now keep the target and attainment until the effective date with the old manager and move the target for the rest of the year to the new manager! This only applies to person targets.

Note

When we split the targets after moving the target from one to another node. The impact will depend on the effective changes that are applied. For example: Assume, that we want the changes to be effective from June, then data from Jan to May will be in the old node, and Jun to Dec data will be in the new node.

Tracking of Licensed Users

To aid with the task of quickly tracking licenses in the system, we have added a licenses section. It is known that sometimes the import process pulls in more people, who don't need to have fullcast licenses into the Teams module. Since the licensing is based on "benefiting" users, you can now easily move users you don't want to count against your licenses to a special "unlicensed" node in the team's module. This will give you a clear picture of the licensing situation and allows for a quick conversation with your Business Partner.

Drag and Drop - You can now use drag and drop to move things in the system!

User Selection Control - We have enhanced the user selection control in the application to provide additional details and search capabilities to find the users you are looking for. Better yet - you can now configure the fields you want to show and search on including cost center, location, teams, title, etc.

Enhanced Role Details - The "Show Role Details" now display the person assigned to a role and the name of the territory in a much readable way. Check it out.

Self-Service Improvements

Teams as participants

We wanted to downsize the work performed by the users in the application and so we planned to introduce two new ways of adding participants to the round-robin functionality in the routing queue policy. The user now doesn’t have to make an individual entry to add the participants, instead, as a convenient measure, we allow them to add the participants as a team. Any members who need not be added to the participants list can be mentioned in the exception list provided.

Territory Round Robin

Not just teams, it comes with a bonus! You can now round-robin with territories and route the object to a person assigned in a particular role in each territory. Round-robin is such an important part with which the sales team manage their routing and we assure that after these convenient upgrades, the sales manager will be happy round-robining!

To enable the automatic update of participants after a change in hierarchy, the users have to enable a trigger flag in salesforce. To know this in detail, click Motion Package Upgrade Notes - 2.160

Policy Status Update

We have upgraded the Policy Status audit entries generated with a Fullcast policy executed in Salesforce. The goal of these enhancements is to support troubleshooting, auditing, and reporting. We have visually enhanced the view in the Status object which shows the inputs, the processing that was done and the outputs for every policy. We also have added references and links so that you can quickly get to the affected objects.

Integration Layer Enhancements

We have introduced a fully automated import and export capability that you can now manage directly in the app. Up until now, for changes to the integration layer, you have had to contact support. Not anymore! Now you can manage all aspects of the integration layer, what fields to import, what to export and the status and details of each job. We have also provided error files (like Salesforce's Data Loader) so you can quickly troubleshoot integration issues. There is a lot of new capabilities here - please contact your Business Partner so they can walk you through all the enhancements.

We drive a significant part of our development roadmap based on YOUR feedback. Please let us know if something is not what you expected and we will do our best to fix it.

Thank you for being a Fullcast customer!

Sincerely, The Engineering Team!
