SmartPlan - Minimum Balancing criteria

By selecting the Minimum balancing criteria in SmartPlan, we are limiting the accounts to a minimum number in the territory. Each territory should have at least the mentioned minimum number of accounts; it can have more than that, but not less than the minimum number provided.

  1. In the Prioritized Balancing criteria section select Min in the Add Criteria.
  2. A new Minimum section shows up where a number denoting the minimum number of accounts needs to be entered which will follow a criterion
  3. Next, select the Create criteria which opens up a new window called Filter Builder to select your criteria.
  4. We can either give a single condition or a group of conditions with 'AND' or 'OR' operator.
  5. Once the criteria is set, select Ok.
  6.  There are two options available for the accounts that do not match the criteria chosen
    1. Put them in the Unassigned node. (This is default selection)
    2. Distribute equally among all the territories and selecting this option will distribute the records equally without considering the criteria that is given.
  7. Select the options for Named Accounts, whether you want to include them in the SmartPlan balancing, or exclude them.
  8. Select the required option from Treatment of Account Families
  9. Decide whether to include or exclude the child accounts in the SmartPlan balancing and select the appropriate option.
  10. Select Save.

In the above illustration, Spain node has a total of 1020 records. The aim is to categorize this node into 3 territories with a minimum of 4 records which satisfy the criteria - Number of employees is greater than or equal to 50. Minimum Balancing SmartPlan creates three child nodes Spain_1, Spain_2, and Spain_3. Out of 1020 records, 378 records does not satisfy the criteria (Number of employees is > 50) and so those 378 records have been moved to Unassigned node. The rest of the 642 records is distributed equally to the three newly created territories.
