How to create territories using bucket values?

The rules engine allows specific Buckets to create the child territories. Rules specify the criteria for the records going into each bucket.

Steps to select fields in the hierarchy level

It's important to select the field values which need to appear in the dropdown menu of the hierarchy. Follow the below steps to do that:

  1. Click on the login name in the right corner.
  2. Select the tab Field settings.
  3. In the Field settings page, choose Accounts from the drop-down available in Use Entity to modify existing fields
  4. Check the boxes for the fields needed in the segmentation rules.
  5. After 20 minutes, those selected field values will be displayed in the Hierarchy level.

Steps to create territories using Buckets

  1. In the Design UI, click on customer segments.
  2. In the segmentation panel, select a parent node in the hierarchy.
  3. Click on the Hierarchy Operations Menu.
  4. Select Add Hierarchy.
  5. Under Type, select Bucket.
  6. Select Add Row in the Bucket Values tab. Name and create the buckets by entering the criteria for each one using the Bucket Values table in the menu. Select the desired filter and enter the values that correspond to each field.
  7. Select the treatment of the account families.
  8. Acknowledge the warning about the number of territories that will be created.
    • If there was any routing enabled, the changed rules will impact the routing configuration. The configuration has to be adjusted according to new rules.
    • If territory-based routing is used, the changes are immediate and all routing will follow the newly edited rules.
  9. Click Save to create the Buckets in the Hierarchy.
