How to build your Industry taxonomy?

Industry taxonomy could be customized according to the GTM plan. Below document gives an input on how to build the industry taxonomy for your company.

Adding Industry Nodes

  1. In the Design UI, select manage taxonomy in Industry taxonomy category.
  2. Select the Menu[...] on the top left corner. Select Add Node.
  3. Fill out the criteria for the new Industry node, including a Title, Icon, Description, and Super Sector/Sector/Industry(as available), and the corresponding SIC/NAICS code, if applicable.
  4. Confirm after completing the details.

Super Sector, Sector, Industry, and Codes

Adding nodes to your Industry Taxonomy is hierarchy-based (Super sector>Sector>Industry>Code). Depending on where you decide to create an industry node, certain fields cannot be edited. For example, if you create an industry node under a super sector, you will only be able to fill out the sector field in the Add Node menu.

Editing Industry Nodes

To edit a current node in your Industry Taxonomy:

  1. Select the node in the taxonomy hierarchy that needs to be edited.
  2. Select the Menu[...] button, and choose Edit Node.
  3. Do the edits where ever necessary and applicable, and Confirm to complete the action.

Deleting Industry Nodes

To delete a current node in your Industry Taxonomy:

  1. Select the node in the taxonomy hierarchy that needs to be deleted.
  2. Select the Menu[...] button, and choose Delete Node.
  3. Acknowledge the warning by typing DELETE in the text box, and Confirm to complete the action.

Moving Records

To move records between industries:

  1. Select the records you'd like to move in your node of choice.
  2. Once selected, click the Move Records button in the Grid Action Bar.
  3. Select the hierarchy node where you'd like to move the taxonomy records.
  4. Click Confirm. You will be redirected to the hierarchy node you chose, and see change indicators next to the records that were moved to track changes(similar to tracking changes in the details grid)
